Time Zones

There are six standard time zones in the United States.

  • Eastern Time Zone (all the states along the East Coast as well as Florida*,
    Tennessee*, Kentucky*, Ohio, Indiana* and Michigan*) has a 5-hour time
    difference with the United Kingdom. When it is 10 a.m. here, it is 3 p.m. in the United Kingdom. *A part of each of these states is in the Central Time Zone.

  • Central Time Zone (states* in the central part of the country) has a 6-hour
    time difference with the United Kingdom. *A part of North and South
    Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Texas is in the Mountain Time Zone.

  • Mountain Time Zone (Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming,
    Idaho*, Montana and parts of Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North
    Dakota) has a 7-hour time difference with the United Kingdom. *A part of
    Idaho is in the Pacific Time Zone.

  • Pacific Time Zone (California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington) has an
    8-hour time difference with the United Kingdom. A small part of Oregon is
    in Mountain Time Zone.

  • Alaska Time Zone (all of Alaska except for the Aleutian Islands) has a
    9-hour time difference with the United Kingdom.

  • Hawaii–Aleutian Time Zone has a 10-hour time difference with the United Kingdom.
