Cheyenne was the largest outpost of the United States Cavalry, before it became the state’s capital.  The town’s top attraction is the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, held in July.  Fort Laramie became an important outpost serving pioneers emigrating West on the Mormon and Oregon Trails.  The Buffalo Bill Center in Cody retraces this important chapter of American history.  The flat-topped volcanic Devil’s Tower became world known thanks to Steven Spielberg’s movie “Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind”.  The charismatic town Jackson is the gateway to two of Mother Nature’s masterpieces : Grand Teton National Park with 12 peaks reaching heights of more than 3600 meters and above all Yellowstone National Park with its waterfalls, bubbling mud pots, fumaroles and the Old Faithful Geyser, whose eruptions occur every 90 minutes and reach an average of 55 meters in the air.
