Tipping

Tipping (also known as a gratuity) makes up a significant proportion of the wages of service employees, so it is good practice to tip. Unlike many countries, the tip (sometimes referred to as the service) is usually not included in the restaurant bill with the exception of large parties. Where your table is served, the tip should be between 15% and 20% based on the quality of service. For buffet restaurants with limited table service, a tip of 10% to 15% of the bill is still recommended as the servers work hard keeping the buffet line stocked and clean. For taxi drivers between 10% and 15% of the fare, based on service. For bellmen/porters $1-2 per bag and for the car parking valet $2-$5. For other service providers, bus drivers $1.50 and tour guides $2 per day.
